Palo Alto Gas - $3.31 - June 29

Everytime I'm in Paly, I seem to end up near this gas station. It may be the Kevin Bacon of filler-ups. Taking a shot of their sandwich board has become a minor amusement.

One thing I've noticed is these guys don't sleep when it comes to tweaking their prices. Moreover, it's always been one of the more expensive stations around, no doubt because of the tony neighborhood. Whenever I see a sharp rise here I know the price  hammer's about to fall on everyone. It's an 'indicator' and this station always seems ahead of the curve on price jumps and behind it on price drops. They're funny that way.

Last year these guys flirted with $5/gallon, getting as close as $4.95. This year, they were as low as $2.47 in February. Look at them now.

I think it's going to be an expensive summer for drivers... and all of us. <sigh />

The Super + Hefeweizen at Grumpys for lunch, ftw!

That's a bacon burger with cheese and a fried egg. Thank goodness I have a low cholesterol count.

My new Palm Pre: faux unboxing

I actually "unboxed" my new Pre at the Sprint Store in San Francisco on Mission Street, right across from Bloomingdales.  There were some pictures I took after I got home with easily the sweetest piece of mobile technology I've ever owned. .LAG

Palo Alto Gas - April 28 - $2.81

I used to live in Palo Alto for about twelve years before I moved to San Francisco a year and a half ago.  I go to Paly often for personal and business appointments or to see friends.  Every time I'm down there, I seem to end up at the Shell Station on the corner of Lytton Avenue and Alma Street, right across from the CalTrain station.  On April 28, 2009, I took this picture of the  gas price sign on the corner of the station's property.
